2/05/2012…..WEEK
279…..STUDY, GROW AND SHARE
Jesus
said in John 15:8 “If you love me, keep My Word”…Jesus is our example to walk
as He did and daily walk in submission to God and His Word. One of satan’s
tricks is to encourage us to put off doing important tasks (like calling
someone to check on them; studying and meditating in God’s Word; challenging ourselves
to continue to memorize scripture. (It is not as easy as you mature, but well
worth the effort). For those who have busy schedules and as we mature, it
becomes easier to put off calling someone we haven’t talked with in a while and
that might just be the person that needs to be uplifted and Holy Spirit is
nudging us to call. Be encouraged by God’s leading in your life.
We
are to continue and grow daily in our faith; 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study and be eager
and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial) a
workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately
dividing (rightly handling and skillfully teaching) the Word of Truth”. Another
excellent verse to learn and use to develop your spirit is found in verse 16 “Avoid
all empty (vain, useless idle) talk for it will lead people into more and more
ungodliness”. But be encouraged by v.19 “But the firm foundation of (laid by)
God stands, sure and unshaken, bearing this seal (inscription): The Lord knows
those who are His, and let everyone who names the name of the Lord give up all
sin and stand away from it.”
Most
people love to share good news regarding their family or a promotion in their
employment but we are less likely to share the Lord with someone that doesn’t
know Him as their Savior. We should all have a list of lost people along with
those who have fallen away from following the Lord that we pray for daily and
use every opportunity God gives us to share with them what He means to us and
what He can do in their life challenges. Memorize 2 Peter 3:18 “Grow in grace
and knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be
glory (honor and majesty and splendor) both now and until the day of eternity.
Amen”
