3/7/2010 GOD’S ARMOR (Amplified Bible Used) 

Ephesians 6:10 “Be strong in the Lord (be empowered) through your union with Him”; draw your strength from Him which His boundless might provides”. Let’s look at each piece that Paul instructs us to apply. God supplies the armor; BUT WE MUST APPLY IT DAILY OURSELVES: V.11“Put On God’s whole armor that you may be able to successfully stand against the strategies and the deceits of the devil”. Stand firm in God’s Word; John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh             (doubts, worry, lies) conveys no benefit whatsoever”. 

(1) Belt of Truth; John 14:6; Jesus said; “I am the way, the truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me”. John 4:24 “God is a Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth”. Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seems right to a man but at the end of it is the way of death”. Meditate on this….Jesus is the only way to eternal life and victory. 

(2) Breastplate of Righteousness: Being right with God and having His protection through faith in Him. We need to know His Word and apply it in every situation we encounter. The enemy will attempt to defeat you; apply 2 Corinthians 5:21 “For our sake, He made Christ to be sin who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus”.  

(3) Feet shod with preparation of Word We must be careful where our feet take us, don’t become a part of the crowd but be a witness for truth wherever you are. His Word will guide us. Psalm 119:105 “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”.  

(4) Shield of Faith: Our battle is not with flesh and blood but the fallen power of darkness. Our faith protects us against the lies of satan (the fallen one).“We walk by faith not sight” 2 Corinthians 5:7. We must know God’s Word and employ it in all situations when we are confronted with or sense weakness in our thoughts. 

(5)Helmet of Salvation: Take the helmet of salvation, we must protect our mind through God’s Word. Satan is a liar and will attack your mind continuously. 

(6) Sword of Spirit: God’s Word: Study, meditate and apply it daily! Psalm 119:11 “Your Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against you”. Live daily by Romans 13:12 “The night is far gone and the day is almost here. Let us then drop the works and deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light”. God provides the armor, we must yield to the Lord and use the Armor for His glory and His kingdom.  

Meditate on this: Esther 2:15b “Esther won favor in the sight of all who saw her.”
